SES is a Curtiss-Wright company operating within the Integrated Sensing division
of Curtiss-Wright's Motion Control segment. The Company, founded in 1991, designs
and manufactures a range of rugged products for airborne and other severe environments,
with particular expertise in solid state data recording, computing and control display
units, as well as security encryption.
Our approach is to design and environmentally qualify generic Commercial Off The
Shelf (COTS) equipment capable of configuration, using our environmental test facilities,
including shaker, ovens and EMC chamber, for qualification. Where required, additional
design and qualification can be undertaken. This "Configured COTS" approach provides
our customers with the benefits of reduced costs and reduced time to market, for
equipment tailored to specific applications.
Today, SES counts most UK aerospace manufacturers and prime contractors - as well
as European Aerospace companies based outside UK - among its key customers. Over
recent years, we have delivered more than 1000 SIFF LRUs to Raytheon Systems; SES
cockpit voice and data recorders are fitted in most UK helicopter fleets; SES multi-channel
video recorders are used daily by power-line survey companies and police; SES EMU
loggers are FAA-certified as part of Rolls-Royce’s most recent helicopter engines.
