First OLM customers for S3DR-F
On 30th January 2003, SES launched the latest in the S3DR family of Solid State
Data Recorders, and already three different programmes have committed to use the
recorder on their aircraft. The recorder provides a cost-effective, high-capacity
cockpit mountable flight data recorder that is able to support a number of high-speed
digital interfaces.
The MoD has chosen to use the S3DR-F to monitor the new Rolls-Royce Turbomeca Adour
Mk106 engine being installed in UK Jaguar GR3A and T4 aircraft. The S3DR-F system
provides monitoring via the engine control unit, to permit post-mission analysis
of engine performance for engine life purposes.
An installation of S3DR-F has been selected by Marshall Aerospace for installation
on the Hercules C130J aircraft as part of a complete data acquisition system provided
by ACRA Control . This OLM installation will be used to measure in-flight loading
on the C130J for confirming the actual usage and operating environment, as part
of a major OLM programme at Marshall Aerospace.
S3DR-F has been selected by Marshall Aerospace as part of a system solution provided
by ACRA Control for installation on the E-3D Sentry aircraft. This system shares
much in common with the system for the C130J aircraft, measuring loading in the
airframe for confirmation of usage and operating environment.
