Graphical Displays for Harrier

BAE Systems have selected an SES control and display solution to support the Harrier IWP2 and GR9 programmes.

The SES solution consists of an innovative, configurable, graphical head-down display connected to a remote slave display mounted in front of the Head-Up Display. The pilot controls the system via a simple six-switch remote control panel ensuring minimal impact on his workload.

The decision to use the SES solution was influenced by the ability the system provides the flight trials team to configure the graphical format of the parameter display "on-the-fly". Additionally, all components of the system can be reprogrammed whilst permanently installed in the aircraft, via a secure software upload interface.
