SES Develops Modular Display Systems

Following the interest generated by its products, presented at the DSEi exhibition of September 2003, SES has been assessing the range of requirements for Control and Display Units, which it has received in enquiries.

The range of different facilities, inputs and outputs, size and space envelopes are astounding and no two enquiries are alike. Coupled with this is the fact that requirements are usually for small quantities "one or two" up to "maybe twenty" units and no one wants to pay the engineering cost for development of their unique solution.

SES has been scratching its collective head to find an answer to this problem and at last we have devised a solution that will soon be available to everyone. A set of COTS display sub-modules. These offer the capability to drive a range of display types and sizes, provide a variety of interface options, can operate from a range of power inputs, and are extremely small.

The modules will be environmentally tested and certified and can be packaged together with the required display "glassware" to meet specific space requirements, whilst maintaining the validity of environmental certification. This means that the NRE costs associated with the physical implementation and qualification can be minimised and a tailored solution offered at a very competitive price.

Additionally, options for software development and implementation are also available from SES to enable easy design of the text and graphic information for display, or alternatively units can be supplied with all software development fully implemented.
