Post Design Support Group Established

Recognising the increasing importance of providing Post Design Support (PDS) services to our customers, SES have established a Post Design Support group to be headed up by Ed Hughes. Ed is a seasoned Project Manager and ex Royal Navy aircrew officer. His naval service included 4 years in the Defence Procurement Agency managing procurement and support contracts for airborne avionic equipment in fixed and rotary wing aircraft.

The PDS group will be providing ongoing support to customers who have entered into maintenance contracts for equipment delivered by SES. Current support contracts exist with QinetiQ (Jindivik target drone), Lockheed Martin (Merlin EH101), EUROCONTROL (Mode-S), and Honeywell Aerospace (Nimrod Mission Recording).

Ongoing PDS activities include the provision of design custodian services, equipment support, obsolescence management and specific technical tasks. By formally recognising these activities within a permanent support group SES will be able to enhance the overall level of support provided to our customer base.
